Hood Business Park Mill & Reclaim – Charlestown, MA

The mill & reclaim paving project at Hood Business Park in Charlestown, MA is now complete. This project started when the building was completely renovated removing loading docks and completely gutting the building to expand new office space. Once the building renovations were complete, Asphalt Services, Inc. came in and reclaimed and paved half the parking lot, then milled and paved the other half. The reconstruction of the parking lot was done this way to save room in the budget. The areas of the parking lot closest to the building were reclaimed and the half farthest away from the building was where the milling took place. The milled areas were not in as bad of shape due to being away from the construction and equipment during the renovations. Also installed in this new parking lot was a raised walkway spanning across the entire parking lot. This walkway has been painted to be seen and acts as a speed bump. Warning tabs were put in at each edge of every drive lane to warn pedestrians when they have reached an area of the walkway with passing cars.
